EDSON's RIDGE CAMPAIGN (Sept 12 Night)

 Finished the September 12 Night Turn

It is very heavy casualties on both sides. It has only 11 squads plus 3 leader remain but it is also true for the Japan side. ( I think that he has 12 squads, a crew plus 2 leaders)

I have lost 26 VP on the Hill #100.

Good thing & bad thing:
1/ BAD! 9-2 leader plus two squads attack a Japan 1st line unit in Jungle by CC. Result: 9-2 leader & both squads lost.
Even I get the ambushes the Japan but fail to kill it, Japan roll a 3 to kill my 9-2 & a squad (I think that this should be CR instead of kill, but by the war, they have gone)
2/ BAD! FFE fires over the observer! I directly place the FFE 3 hexes away on the pre-register hex but it land inaccurate to the observer hex and break it although it is protected by a foxhole. My OBA gone!
3/ GOOD! A marine defense a trench and against a Japan squad plus 2 crews. It kills all the attackers before it died.

Learning from this scenario,
1/ it is a good buy of heavy weapon for US, maximum the fire power as possible since these are not any multi-location fire groups at night. I think that it is also true for night scenario;
2/ Do not use the best leader for HIP! Since it is allowed to have freedom of movement of the best 2 leader, try to use the best leader to active the NO MOVE unit;
3/ Dead as much as possible on the first night (at least 19 CVP) otherwise you cannot buy anything except squad.

I think that Japan will not take the attack on the Sept 13 Day turn. So, I will try to re-take the hill #100 by my AFV. In order to prevent the Japan counter-attack, I will buy the air support as well to counter Japanese air attack if any.
